One person dead after helicopter crash in West Virginia
POCAHONTAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) - One person is dead after a helicopter crashed in Pocahontas County. According to the Pocahontas County 911, the crash took place near Huntersville, just outside of Marlinton. The FAA has released a statement saying that a Sikorsky S-76 crashed around 7:45 a.m. in the Huntersville area. Only the pilot was on board. According to Waco Oil and Gas, they owned the helicopter and they identified the pilot as Leo Basile. The FAA and the NTSB will be investigating.
