Driver of sedan dead after crash with semi-truck in Ionia County
A 64-year-old driver is dead following a crash with a semi-truck Friday morning in Odessa Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff's Office. It happened at the intersection of Jordan Lake Road and West Clarksville Road around 7:15 a.m., deputies said. Crime : Residents on guard after string of vehicle thefts at Kalamazoo County apartments The driver, a Lake Odessa man, was going east on West Clarksville Road in a Chevy Impala when he missed the stop sign and was hit by a northbound semi-truck, the sheriff's office said. First responders tried to save him, but he died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, a 45-year-old man, was not hurt. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, and the sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
