One dead in Pocahontas County helicopter crash, dispatchers say
One person has died in a helicopter crash in Pocahontas County on Friday, dispatchers said. The crash, which involved a Sikorsky S76D helicopter, was reported Friday morning in the Huntersville area near Marlinton, W.Va., according to the National Transportation Safety Board. Pocahontas County dispatchers said one person died as a result of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration said the crash was reported about 7:45 a.m. Only the pilot was on board. West Virginia State Police, the NTSB and FAA are currently investigating.
