Motorcyclist injured in crash on Route 9 in Colonie
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Authorities are investigating a crash that happened in Colonie Tuesday evening. The incident involved a car and motorcycle on Route 9. According to the Colonie Police Department, a motorcycle was traveling north on Route 9 when a Toyota Corolla traveling south made a U-turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was sent to Albany Med with non-life-threatening injuries. Colonie police said they received word that the motorcyclist sustained broken bones in their arm, leg and face. The driver of the Corolla was not injured. Police say all parties involved are cooperating and they don't believe alcohol or impairment were factors in the crash. No tickets have been issued at this time. The investigation and reconstruction by the department's traffic safety division is still being completed.
