60-year-old dies after Interstate 80 crash near Cordelia area of Solano County, CHP says
A man died Friday morning after crashing along Interstate 80 in Solano County, the California Highway Patrol said.The 60-year-old was seen speeding in a gray Lexus sedan on westbound I-80, east of Red Top Road near Cordelia, CHP said. At some point, he got into a minor crash with a black Lexus sedan, causing him to hit the center median barrier, overturn and come to a rest on the No. 1 lane.CHP said shortly afterward, a gray Dodge SUV crashed into the gray Lexus, and the driver died from his injuries. No one else was injured.While speed is considered a factor in the crash, CHP said the exact cause is unknown.CHP said the crash temporarily blocked lanes while officers investigated, but the lanes reopened at 5:50 a.m. Traffic logs indicate the crash was reported around 2:35 a.m.The identity of the driver who died has not been released.See news happening?
