Chase and rollover crash in Cudahy leads to hundreds of power outages
Hundreds in Cudahy are without power Sunday morning after a vehicle crashed into power equipment, damaging it in the process.We Energies tells 12 News a vehicle damaged two power poles, taking down power lines and equipment."We have multiple crews on scene working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible," We Energies spokesperson Brendan Conway said in an email.At around 2 a.m. Sunday, a 12 News photographer spotted a violent rollover crash across the street from a Cudahy McDonald's near Packard Avenue & Kimberly Avenue.Officers on scene told 12 News the incident started as a chase that ended in a crash.We Energies' outage map shows nearly 500 customers are without power.Conway says crews hope to bring the power back by 9:30 this morning, but warns the extensive damage from the crash could take crews longer than usual to restore power.12 News has brought several questions to the Cudahy Police Department about the crash, including if anybody was hurt and if officers arrested anyone.
