Boy killed in vehicle versus e-bike crash in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN (WLUK) -- Sheboygan Police were called to the intersection of South 25th Street and Broadway Avenue for a crash involving a car and an e-bike on Saturday, July 25th just before 5 p.m. The operator of the e-bike, a 14-year-old boy visiting from the Beloit area, was taken via ambulance by the Sheboygan Fire Department to a local hospital. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital as a result of injuries from the crash. The involved vehicle, which was driven by a 25-year-old Sheyboygan man stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. He was not injured. Investigators gathered evidence and statements from several witnesses. Officers determined the 14-year-old boy driving the e-bike was southbound on South 25th Street and failed to stop for the stop sign at Broadway Avenue before going in front of the sedan, which was westbound on Broadway Ave. The e-bike was then struck by the sedan. The Sheboygan Police Department asks that the involved families be given privacy in this difficult time.
