York County coroner called to I-83 crash, southbound lanes closed
NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) - The York County Coroner's office says it's responded to a multi-vehicle crash that has closed a portion of I-83 on Monday morning in York County. According to PA511, the crash is in the southbound lanes between Exit 33: PA 392 - Yocumtown, and Exit 32: PA 382 - Newberrytown. A PennDOT spokesperson says the crash occurred in the backlog of a weekend work zone project that was in the process of being cleared out. The crash involves two tractor-trailers and a passenger vehicle. All southbound lanes are closed as of 9 a.m. Traffic is backed up for several miles, and police are directing drivers off the highway. The coroner's office says more information is expected to be released on Monday.
