Person airlifted after crash on Pittmantown Road in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A person was airlifted after a crash on Pittmantown Road in Suffolk Tuesday evening, according to the Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue. On June 30 at around 6:01 p.m., the department's units were dispatched to a call for a crash with a pinned occupant in the 2900 block of Pittmantown Road. When emergency crews arrived to the scene, they discovered a crash involving a pickup truck hauling horses and a large agricultural chemical sprayer. One person was extricated and airlifted to a local trauma center. Due to the crash, two horses were left with minor injuries and were removed from the scene without incident. The department's units cleared the scene at 7:19 p.m.
