Woman charged after fatal pedestrian crash on I-240 near South Parkway

This story has been updated. MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman was arrested after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on I-240 near South Parkway East Wednesday morning, according to Memphis Police. Tarina Lanette Zirker is being charged with driving while her license was revoked and driving without proof of insurance. Officers say they responded to the crash a little after 7:30 a.m. Police reported that Zirker, who was driving a Nissan Altima, was traveling southbound on I-240 near South Parkway East. A female pedestrian entered into a travel lane and was hit by Zirker's Altima, authorities said. The victim was pronounced dead and Zirker remained at the scene. She was immediately placed into custody and taken to the Shelby County Jail. A court date has not been scheduled for Zirker at this time.
