Man killed in auto-pedestrian crash in Cedar City grocery store parking lot

A man in his 70s died after he was hit by a car in a grocery store parking lot in Southern Utah. Officials with the Cedar City Police Department said the man was walking in the Smith's parking lot at about noon on Friday when he was hit by a car. Emergency responders arrived and performed CPR on the victim, but he died from his injuries. Police described the victim as a man in his 70s. They did not release his identity as they are working to notify his family. Officers did not make any arrests, noting that the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. "The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, and no further information is available for release," police said.
