Victims in fatal northeast Columbus crash with COTA bus identified

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Two victims pronounced dead after a crash involving a Central Ohio Transit Authority bus have been identified. According to the Columbus Division of Police, two people were traveling in a black Audi Q5, southbound on Sunbury Road, approaching the Mock Road intersection in the Bridgeview area of northeast Columbus. As the Audi was driving through the intersection, reportedly against the traffic signal, a COTA bus was turning left from Mock Road, northbound onto Sunbury Road. The Audi struck the COTA bus at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Pronounced dead at the scene were 32-year-old Antwoine O’Neal Jr. and 33-year-old Dominique Williams. For previous coverage of this story view the video player above. The COTA driver was hospitalized in stable condition, while one passenger on the bus was treated at the scene. The area of Sunbury Road was closed for nearly six hours while the Accident Investigation Unit continued to process the scene.
