Two Killed in Traffic Accident in Jawzjan
Two people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on the Jawzjan–Faryab highway, Taliban authorities said. The Taliban’s police command in Jawzjan said on Sunday, June 28, that the accident occurred after a Luxel vehicle collided with a Saracha vehicle. According to the statement, the injured victims were transferred to a hospital for treatment. Taliban officials attributed the accident to driver negligence and excessive speed. Traffic accidents continue to claim lives across Afghanistan each year. Poor road conditions, reckless driving, speeding, and failure to observe traffic regulations are among the main causes of such incidents.
