Three vehicles collide in Steuben County resulting in driver injuries.
Three people were hurt in two head-on collisions involving three vehicles in rural Steuben County. The incident occurred on US 20 near CR 370 W, close to Silver Lake in Pleasant Township, just before 6 p.m. on Saturday. Responding deputies found a white car with heavy front-end damage and a bronze SUV overturned in a ditch, with both drivers trapped inside their vehicles. A blue vehicle was also discovered off the road. The severity of the crash prompted the Steuben County Fatal Accident/Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) to be called in for investigation. Initial findings indicated that the blue vehicle crossed the center line, causing the first head-on collision with the white car, which then collided head-on with the bronze SUV. All drivers suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized. The crash was attributed to snowy road conditions, and alcohol is not suspected to be a factor. US 20 was closed for two hours following the incident as the investigation continues under the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
