Person hospitalized after collision with dump truck on Poole Road in Raleigh, NCSHP officials say

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) — One person had to be taken to the hospital after a crash on Poole Road in southeast Raleigh near Knightdale, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. NCSHP said the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Poole Road between Hodge Road and Bethlehem Road. According to troopers, a dump truck was traveling east, while a blue Toyota Camry was heading west. The Toyota Camry then veered off the center median and hit the dump truck in a head-on collision, troopers said. NCSHP said the male driver of the dump truck sustained minor injuries, but wasn’t transported to the hospital. The driver of the Toyota Camry suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, troopers said. According to NCSHP officials, there was only one occupant in each vehicle. Troopers said Poole Road was closed for a couple of hours, but fully reopened around 10 a.m.
