Temple PD investigating injury accident involving a vehicle and two bicycles

TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44) - The Temple Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that happened earlier this evening and left two people injured. Officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of Tarver Drive at approximately 7:42 p.m. this evening (Monday, Feb. 9, 2026) for a traffic accident involving a vehicle and two people on bicycles. Upon their initial investigation, officers learned the vehicle was traveling down the roadway when it struck the two individuals on bicycles in the middle of the roadway. One of the individuals riding a bicycle sustained minor injuries, and the second individual sustained a life-threatening injury. Both were transported to an area hospital, and no other injuries have been reported at this time. The Temple Police Department Traffic Unit will have the area closed off for several hours as they conduct their investigation. If you need to travel through this area, please use an alternate route. This investigation is ongoing, and no other information will be released at this time.
