Temple City crash sends car into gas station parking lot, injures 2
Two people were hospitalized after their car sheared a fire hydrant and overturned in Temple City early Wednesday night. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the crash shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the area of Rosemead Boulevard and Las Tunas Drive. Emergency crews found the car on its roof after it had struck the hydrant and flipped over in a Mobile gas station parking lot. One of the occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle, a spokesperson for the fire department told KTLA. Water from the damaged hydrant was seen spraying about 100 feet into the air after the crash, according to news video service KNN. Video showed Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel treating the two patients at the scene. One person was down in the street, surrounded by rushing water, while a second patient was being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. Both were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
