Syracuse resident apprehended for deadly Sullivan collision.
A man from Syracuse has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal accident that took place in July in the town of Sullivan. When authorities responded to a motor vehicle accident on July 11 on State Route 31, they discovered a rolled-over jeep with three individuals ejected from it. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Robert Echols, was traveling with two passengers when the jeep veered off the road, hit an embankment, and rolled over multiple times before stopping. Sadly, one passenger, identified as 22-year-old Kiara Coello, did not survive the crash, while both Echols and the other passenger were injured and taken to a hospital. Following a thorough investigation, it was determined that Echols was under the influence at the time of the accident. Consequently, Echols was arrested by the Madison County Sheriffs on December 11, based on a Superior Court Indictment Warrant. He faces several charges and was remanded to the Madison County Jail on $5,000 cash bail after his arraignment in Madison County Court.
