Motorcyclist dead following crash in Schuylkill County
Pennsylvania State police are investigating a fatal crash in Schuylkill County on July 4th. State police say the crash happened in Mahanoy Township on State Route 54 just before 8 p.m. Investigators say a car was traveling west on State Route 54 when they entered the opposing east bound lane and hit a motorcyclist head on then the tailing unit. Police say 62-year-old John Coleman was not wearing a helmet, ejected from the motorcycle and died as a result of the crash. The tailing vehicle sustained minor damage. The driver who entered the wrong lane was suspected of driving under the influence. State police are continuing to investigate.
