Pedestrian killed in Fourth of July Johnsburg crash
JOHNSBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred in Johnsburg over the weekend. The incident took place just before 11:45 p.m. on July 4. Detectives determined that a Ford F-450 heading east on State Route 8 struck a woman entering the roadway near Sodom Cross Road on Saturday night. The pedestrian, identified as 64-year-old Joanne Sutliff of Johnsburg, was declared dead at the scene, according to law enforcement. The WCSO stated that the truck driver, a 49-year-old man, showed no signs of impairment and has not been charged as the crash remains under investigation. Johnsburg EMS and the Bakers Mills Fire Department assisted deputies with the operation.
