Sheldon's Route 78 Reopened After Deadly Accident
In a tragic incident in Sheldon on Friday night around 8:40, a young man lost his life in a crash. After an investigation, it was determined that Jacob King, aged 21 and a resident of Sheldon, was driving on Route 78 when his Audi A4 veered out of control and hit a tree. Unfortunately, King was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. It was noted that neither King nor the two other occupants were wearing seatbelts during the crash; thankfully, the other passengers were treated and discharged at the scene. Factors such as icy roads and speed are believed to have played a role in the crash. Vermont State Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
