28-year-old killed on electric scooter in WPB hit-and-run, identified as O'Shea's employee
A 28-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in West Palm Beach, and police are asking for the public's help to identify the driver responsible. Officers with the West Palm Beach Police Department said they responded to South Olive Avenue, off Lakewood Road, at around 1:50 a.m. Monday, where they found Connor Blais dead in the roadway. An electric scooter was discovered nearby, according to investigators. Police said the driver involved in the crash left the scene without stopping to render aid or report the incident. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle may have damage to its front end or passenger side as a result of the collision. According to police, Blais was returning home from work at a local restaurant when the crash occurred. Blais' workplace, O'Shea's Pub, a popular bar on Clematis Street, posted about its his passing, asking for help finding the driver responsible. Blais had been employed at the Pub for about a year and a half. His manager, Jake Stanton, described Blais as a "ball of fun", a person that always wore a smile and was loved by his coworkers and customers alike. "Great energy, great ball of fun, always here with a smile, passionate about his job, talks to the customers like they're his friends and family," Stanton said. "He's just a great individual to be around." Stanton says he saw Blais right before he left work. "I left here around midnight. I said, 'bye I'll see you tomorrow' and wake up this morning and he's not here. It's very very sad," the manager said.
