Several hurt in wrong-way I-90 crash involving an ambulance
Several people, including a wrong-way driver, were hurt in a crash at exit 6 of I-90 on Saturday. On June 27, 2026, at about 8:59 p.m., troopers responded to the exit 6 eastbound off-ramp of I-90 for the reports of a wrong-way collision involving an ambulance. The investigation determined that a Colonie Ambulance was traveling eastbound on the exit 6 off-ramp of I-90, with a patient onboard, on the way to Albany Medical Center, when a wrong-way driver struck it. The patient they were transporting did not sustain any injuries during the collision and was transported to Albany Medical Center by another ambulance for treatment of their original medical emergency. The wrong-way driver sustained significant non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to Albany Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
