Sebago man dies after van drives off bridge near Rt. 1
Brunswick police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed the driver when his van went over an onramp bridge toward Rt. 1 northbound. According to investigators, the victim, identified as 22-year-old Brandon Macfarland, was driving a van on the bridge Wednesday evening when he veered out of his lane, drove up on an icy embankment and went over the barrier and onto the ground below. Macfarland, who is from Sebago, died at the scene. While police, fire officials and Maine DOT officials investigated the scene, the Rt. 1 onramp was closed for several hours. Brunswick police are still actively investigating.
