ROUTE 283 CLOSED: 2 people reportedly injured in multi-vehicle crash, dispatchers say

According to emergency dispatchers, three to four vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes near the Route 741/East Petersburg/Millersville exit in East Hempfield Township at 5:39 a.m. on Monday. Dispatch said two people are reportedly injured. A photo of the scene shows heavy fog in the area. Route 283 closedAll lanes of Route 283 eastbound are closed between the Route 722/Landisville exit and the Route 741/East Petersburg/Millersville exit. According to PennDOT, the estimated time of reopening is currently around 7:10 a.m. Drivers are reminded to be alert and to expect heavy delays in the area.
