Rome man dies in Town of Verona motorcycle crash

TOWN OF VERONA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- State Police have identified the person killed in a weekend crash involving a motorcycle. Troopers said Vincent Grasso, 30, of Rome was the driver of a 2002 Harley Davidson. The crash happened Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30 at the intersection of State Highway 365 and Blackmans Corners Road in the Town of Verona. Troopers said the preliminary investigation shows the 66-year-old driver of the pickup truck stopped on Blackmans Corners Road and then proceeded to cross the intersection when it was hit by the motorcycle. Police said Grasso was traveling westbound on 365 when the collision happened. 365 is a four-lane road, with a turn lane at the Blackmans corners Road intersection. Those traveling on 365 do not have a stop sign. Grass was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver was not hurt. The investigation remains ongoing.
