Rider hospitalized after car vs. motorcycle crash in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A crash between a car and a motorcycle ended with the motorcyclist being taken to the hospital and the driver of the car being arrested on unrelated charges. According to Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh, officers were called to the area of State Street and Concord Terrace at around 7:25 Sunday evening for a report of a crash between a car and a motorcycle. Walsh says the motorcycle rider is alleged to have "speeding and popping wheelies." The driver of the car, meanwhile, had failed to properly yield. The motorcyclist was taken to Baystate Medical Center for injuries Walsh described as non-life-threatening. The driver, David Grant, 46, of Springfield, had remained on-scene following the crash, however he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer that were unrelated to the crash, Walsh said.
