Porsche flies off hilltop road in Malibu; 2 injured
Two people were injured after a car careened off a steep hilltop road in Malibu Tuesday afternoon. Details remain limited, and it’s still unclear exactly how the violent crash occurred. Officials with the California Highway Patrol said calls reporting the crash near Saddle Peak and Stunt roads came in just before 4:30 p.m. Aerial footage captured by Sky5 showed a heavily damaged Porsche that, according to KTLA’s Rich Pickett, appeared to have launched off Saddle Peak Road, sailed over the hillside and come to a stop dangerously close to a home at 24071 Hovenweep Lane. Debris from the wreckage was scattered across a nearby field. First responders with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene and worked to extricate the two victims from the vehicle. Both suffered injuries, though their immediate conditions were not available. At least one of the victims was rushed to a nearby fire station before being airlifted to a hospital. CHP investigators remained on scene gathering evidence while crews worked to clear the wreckage. It remains unknown whether speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. No additional details have been released.
