Police identify victim in deadly Manor crash on FM 973

AUSTIN (KXAN) – One person died and others remain in critical condition after a Sunday morning crash in Manor, according to the Manor Police Department. The Manor Police Department said officers responded around 4 a.m. near the 11700 block of North Farm-to-Market Road 973. At the time of the crash, the road was blocked in both directions in front of Lagos Elementary School. The roadway reopened shortly after 9 a.m. MPD said officers arrived in less than two minutes after the crash occurred and found two vehicles with significant damage and multiple people in critical condition. One vehicle was carrying a family, and the driver of that vehicle, 22-year-old Jennifer Hernandez of Kyle, was pronounced dead at the scene. MPD said an 11-month-old was in critical condition, and a 19-month-old child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both of them remain in the hospital at this time. A 23-year-old male passenger, Jorge Luis Regino Ramirez of Kyle, was also taken to an area hospital for treatment and has since been released. The driver of the other vehicle remains in critical condition, according to MPD. MPD says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
