Police identify man who died after hitting dirt embankment in Kenton County

A man has died after hitting a dirt embankment head-on, Kenton County police say.Officials say they responded to the scene, at KY 536 and Decoursey Pike, around 11:20 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle accident.Police say Joshua Thomas Raw, 42, of Independence, was driving a black Chevy Silverado, traveling westbound.KCP says Rawe crossed over the railroad crossing on KY 536 and continued across Decoursey Pike, when he hit a dirt embankment head-on.Officials say the Piner Fire Department, Independence Fire District and Air Care responded to the scene to render aid.Rawe was pronounced dead at the scene.No other vehicles were involved and no property damage was reported, police say. No charges are pending.KCP is asking anyone who may have information regarding the crash to contact the department at (859) 356-3191.
