Police identify Kyle woman killed in Manor crash early Sunday; 2 toddlers remain critical
Authorities have identified the woman killed in an early morning crash Sunday as 22-year-old Jennifer Hernandez, as her two young children injured in the collision remain hospitalized in critical condition, the Manor Police Department said Tuesday. Jennifer Hernandez, 22, of Kyle was pronounced dead at the scene of the June 21 crash on the 11700 block of North FM 973, which occurred just before 4 a.m. Preliminary evidence suggests the other vehicle involved may have crossed into oncoming traffic, striking Hernandez's vehicle head-on. Both children in Hernandez's vehicle, an 11-month-old and a 19-month-old, remain in critical condition at Dell Children's Hospital. The father of the 11-month-old, who was also a passenger in the vehicle, has been discharged from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The driver of the second vehicle was extricated from the wreckage and transported to Dell Seton Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The identities of the juvenile patients and the driver of the second vehicle are not being released at the request of their families.
