Police: driver died at scene after West El Paso single-vehicle crash; 2 passengers hurt

Police shared an update on a single-vehicle crash that happened Saturday in West El Paso that sent two people to the hospital, confirming that a third victim, the 25-year-old driver, died on the scene. According to the El Paso Police Department, Missy Roberta Aguilar from East El Paso died Saturday at around 2:22 a.m. after she was speeding while driving a Ford Escape SUV when she hit a curb and crashed into a metal trash container and two rock walls at the 400 block of Shadow Mountain Drive (near where Thunderbird and Silver Springs Drive intersect). Police add that two vehicles that were parked in the area were damaged by the incident. Police said the case remains under investigation. According to police statistics, this is the 23rd traffic death of the year.
