Pedestrian dead, police search for SUV after Las Vegas hit-and-run crash

A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in the northwest Las Vegas valley early Monday morning. The crash was reported around 12:37 a.m. at Craig Road and Jones Boulevard, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. In a statement, police said they believe the male pedestrian was crossing Craig outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. He stumbled several times and fell onto the road. A short time later, a dark colored SUV hit him while he was lying in the roadway. After the collision, the SUV continued east without stopping or notifying police. Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. LVMPD's collision investigation team continues to search for the driver and SUV.
