Farwell man killed in fiery rollover crash in Parmer County
A Farwell man was killed and a Clovis, New Mexico, man was injured in a fiery rollover crash in Parmer County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday on FM 145 east of Farwell. DPS said a 2015 Volvo truck tractor towing a semitrailer was traveling west on FM 145 while a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling east. According to a preliminary investigation, the Dodge veered into the oncoming lane and hit the truck tractor towing a semitrailer. The driver of the Dodge, Christian Alberto Cano, 23, of Farwell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, Hector Guerrero Villalva, 63, of Clovis, New Mexico, was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis with minor injuries. DPS said Villalva was wearing a seat belt. Cano’s seat belt status was unknown because of the significant damage to the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
