One person sustains serious injuries in Highway 3 accident

In Yazoo County, a serious accident on Highway 3 just north of the Warren County line resulted in one person sustaining significant injuries. The incident involved an SUV veering off the road and colliding with an embankment, trapping the driver inside. First responders from both Warren County and Yazoo County were dispatched to the scene, with Yazoo County responders arriving first. Although the accident occurred within Yazoo County, Warren County units were called off. Vicksburg Fire Chief Trey Martin and Warren County Fire Boss Jerry Briggs were among those who aided in extracting the victim from the vehicle. A medical helicopter was summoned to transport the injured individual to a hospital in Jackson. The highway was temporarily closed to facilitate the rescue efforts and helicopter landing, and the current condition of the patient remains unknown.
