One killed in I-215 semi truck crash in Taylorsville
One person was killed Monday in a crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 215 in Taylorsville.The Utah Department of Transportation first reported the crash on I-215 near Redwood Road at around 12:30 p.m. An update from Utah Highway Patrol officials later said a Hyundai Elantra was traveling east when its hood latch came undone and the hood flipped up. The driver stopped in between two lanes, and a semi behind the car was unable to stop in time. The truck rear-ended the Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai died from their injuries. The truck driver was uninjured. Eastbound I-215 was closed in the area for about four hours for the cleanup and investigation.
