Ohio Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash in Fulton County
METAMORA, Ohio (WANE) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Fulton County. According to a press release, the crash occurred on Monday at 3:53 p.m. at US 20 near County Road 7. Charles Rose of Wolcottville, Indiana, was headed east on US 20 in a Peterbilt semi when a van heading westbound drove over the center line and struck Mr. Rose. Linda Rufnacht, 78, of Archbold, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene. Rose was uninjured. The roadway was shut down for four hours and has reopened. Impairment was not considered a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds drivers to look ahead and stay focused on driving, maintain a following distance of at least three seconds, adhere to posted speed limits, always wear a safety belt, and never drive impaired.
