NC 50 in Wake County reopens after crash with injuries near Garner: Officials
GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — A section of N.C. 50 in Wake County has reopened following a crash with injuries Monday morning, officials said. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the crash happened just before 10:43 a.m. in the area of Arbor Greene Drive and Benson Road near Garner. The incident closed the north side of N.C. 50 at Arbor Greene Drive, according to NCDOT. Just after noon, NCDOT said the road had reopened. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a Honda Accord and a Jeep Cherokee were traveling south on N.C. 50 when the Accord struck the Cherokee in the rear. The driver of the Accord is believed to have been suffering from a medical condition and is being evaluated at the hospital, according to the NCSHP. Troopers said the driver and passengers of the Cherokee were evaluated for their injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening.
