Murfreesboro police investigating ‘serious’ motorcycle crash
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Murfreesboro Police Department's Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle. The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday along SE Broad Street. A preliminary investigation found that a Toyota pickup truck was heading south along SE Broad Street when it failed to yield as it went to make a left turn onto Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The truck collided with a motorcycle, causing it to slide several yards. In a social media post, the MPD said the motorcyclist involved "suffered a severe leg injury" and had to be transported to an area hospital via helicopter. As of publication, his current condition is unknown. The MPD said neither the driver nor the passenger in the pickup truck was injured. No further details were immediately released, and the crash remains under investigation by the FACT.
