Troopers are looking into the causes of a head-on collision that resulted in injuries for multiple individuals on Sunday in Wayne County. The Arrington Volunteer Fire Department reported that emergency services were notified of the crash on Genoa Road in Dudley at 1 a.m. First responders found a Honda Fit and a large passenger vehicle, both heavily damaged in the front end. Photos shared by the fire department revealed the vehicles at the crash site— one in the middle of Genoa Road and the other lodged between a small embankment and a fence. The fire department shared on social media that there was a severe two-vehicle head-on collision, leading to significant damage. They assisted EMS in caring for the injured individuals, who were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident, and efforts are being made to obtain updates on the condition of those involved in the crash and the events that transpired.
