Multi vehicle crash blocks I-526 westbound near Don Holt Bridge, causing major backups
(UPDATE) All lanes have been reopened to traffic Wednesday morning after a multivehicle collision blocked lanes on I-526 westbound. (ORIGINAL) All lanes have been blocked on I-526 westbound due to a crash involving multiple vehicles Wednesday morning. According to SCDOT cameras the roadway is blocked between Clements Ferry Road and the Don Holt Bridge. As of 8:15 a.m. there the commute from Mount Pleasant to West Ashley will take drivers approximately one hour. Drive times are expected to continue to increase as the roadway remains blocked. It is not clear at this time what caused the collision or how long it will be until the roadway reopens.
