Motorcyclist killed in Highway 50 crash in El Dorado County
A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash in El Dorado County on Sunday, according to California Highway Patrol. CHP said the crash happened on Highway 50 near Slippery Ford Road, east of Twin Bridges. A white 2009 BMW F650GS motorcycle and a white 2022 Lincoln Navigator were driving in opposite directions on Highway 50. The motorcyclist was driving eastbound and crossed into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with the vehicle, CHP said. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the motorcycle rider, identified as an 85-year-old man from Lincoln, died from his injuries at the scene, according to CHP. The driver of the Lincoln Navigator, identified as a 38-year-old woman from San Lorenzo, was not injured in the crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, CHP said.
