Motorcyclist dies after striking tree off Oregon highway
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A motorcyclist died on Thursday morning after a crash on Highway 140, Oregon State Police announced. The crash took place at 9:15 a.m. near milepost 6 in Lake County. Officials say John Hunter, 69, was driving east on the highway when he "left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree." On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 9:15 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 140 near milepost 6 in Lake County. Hunter was declared dead at the scene.
