Motorcyclist dies after colliding with jeep in Medina County

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- The Medina County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist dead. According to a news release, the crash happened around 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, in the 4900 block of State Route 94 in Granger Township. A Jeep Patriot, driven by an 18-year-old man, pulled out of a private business driveway onto State Route 94 and was headed south when a Yamaha VMAX motorcycle that was going north crossed the center line and struck the jeep. The 56-year-old Akron man who was operating the motorcycle was taken to a hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the news release. The driver of the jeep and a juvenile passenger in the vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. It's not known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. It remains under investigation at this time.
