Motorcyclist dead after crash on I-5 South in Portland, freeway closed
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A motorcyclist died Friday night after a crash on I-5, Portland police announced. The crash occurred just after 6:15 p.m. on I-5 South near exit 299A in Lake Oswego, just south of the Marquam Bridge. Police say the motorcyclist was found dead when officers arrived at the scene. "During the investigation, southbound I-5 is closed. Traffic is being routed from the Marquam Bridge onto northbound I-405. When possible, drivers should use I-205 as a bypass to continue into south and southwest Portland," police said. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Portland police. This is the 20th fatal traffic crash in Portland in 2026, with the previous one taking place Thursday night.
