69-year-old dies after motorcycle crash in Floyd County: VSP

Virginia State Police (VSP) said a 69-year-old died after a motorcycle crash in Floyd County. VSP said they are investigating a three-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Sunday at 9:58 a.m. on Floyd Highway, two-tenths of a mile south of King Store Road in Floyd County. SEE ALSO: 59 cats found dead following Roanoke County house fire According to VSP, a 2021 Harley Davidson was traveling north on Floyd Highway when the motorcycle crossed the centerline and side-swiped a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, which was traveling south. The motorcycle then hit a 2023 Range Rover head-on. VSP said the 69-year-old driver of the Harley Davidson, Kenneth Martin Wingfield, of Roanoke, was wearing a helmet and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, according to VSP.
