ALEXANDRIA, Va. (KSNW) — The City of Alexandria, Virginia will honor the 67 lives lost in a deadly mid-air collision last year with a memorial dedication Monday. On Jan. 29, 2025, American Airlines Flight 5342 from Wichita collided with an Army helicopter as the plane was about to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport. According to the City of Alexandria, the memorial is located in northeastern Rivergate City Park along the Potomac. The space includes benches, commemorative signage and trees dedicated to those who were killed. The memorial dedication will happen at 4:30 p.m. CT/5:30 p.m. ET.
