Man killed in head-on motorcycle crash in Albany, officials say
A man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Albany on Saturday evening, officials say.The Carroll County Sheriff's office was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Route 16 just north of Piper Trail shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to police.Officials say Daniel Jennings, 34, of Tamworth, was operating a motorcycle when he was witnessed to lose control, cross the center lane, and strike a vehicle head-on. Jennings was pronounced deceased at the scene.The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.Route 16 was closed for an extended period of time, but is now open. Police say the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
