Man dies after crash in Westlake: police
WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) -- A 73-year-old man died Sunday after a crash in Westlake near Crocker Park. According to Westlake police, the man was driving south on Crocker Road near Wyndgate Court around 9:15 a.m. when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a car heading north. The victim's vehicle then went off the east side of the road and rolled over, ejecting him. First responders began first aid on the victim before he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt. "It is unknown whether the deceased driver experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash, as no braking or evasive maneuvers were observed," police said. The victim has not been identified. The northbound lanes of Crocker Road were closed between Wyndgate and Hilliard while police processed the scene. It has since reopened to traffic.
