Major traffic backups on I-64 near I-270 after fatal crash
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A fatal crash has caused some major backups in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 near Interstate 270 on Thursday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a semi truck tire came off and struck a vehicle around 1:30 p.m., killing that vehicle's driver. Drivers are backed up for several miles in the eastbound lanes of I-64. Traffic is being is diverted to the southbound lanes of I-270 from the scene of impacts, while the routes for northbound I-270 and eastbound I-64 are currently closed.
